Brian - Great writeup on microblogging for Lotus Connections.

One question - any idea why your "glue" UI in the video is different than what I posted in my blog ?

I'm on the fence about plugins vs standalone options. My challenge has been that Notes and Sametime are great for their desired functions but can get bogged down by plugin performance and resource usage. I don't know if it's a case of the Eclipse container or the efficiency of the plugin(s).

Also, thanks for point out the feed links broke. They use to be "smart" and allow feeds to the blog, categories, or individual posts' comments. Sadly, I must have broken something. For now, I have set the feed options to always give the blog - since that is the most common use case.

Glenn,

I reviewed a few trools for Micor-blogging on several platforms on my blog at http://www.brianodonovan.ie/search/label/microblog - you might be interested in checking it out.

By the way, your blog looks interesting and I would like to subscribe, but the neither the RSS or Atom feed links work (they give different error messages). I wonder if you could fix this?

Thanks.

I'm not exactly answering your question, but here's a thought that I believe will at some point stymie government, especially in the classified world. C&A in government starts at the network and hardware, and a particular "capability" is certified on a particular platform (from the bottom up). In a Cloud how do you do that, certify every possible capability on every possibly node/configuration, ... in the Cloud?

Just a thought.

I wonder what is so remarkable about Kindle that Amazon is promoting it so much. Yes, ability to view blogs on it is remarkable, but to what extent? To the extent of annoying bloggers with no revenue? The revenue model Kindle promotes lacks luster and does not promise great revenue. Better if Amazon revises its plans to benefit bloggers greatly.

I am of the mind that gaming and virtual environments have great opportunity but the current user interfaces make them all but impossible to take advantage of relative to more conventional user expereices for which we have optimized both user interface hardware and software.
